Great Old Ones

By Jonathan Laurel February 28, 2018 Cocktails

The cocktails on our Great Old Ones flight predate Prohibition by a long shot, reaching backward in time to an antediluvian past where cocktails were more elegant and refined. These great hulking monoliths of a bygone era have survived for over one hundred and fifty years, and they live on as a testament to the mysterious wisdom of Golden Age of cocktails. From left to right, the flight features the Hot Toddy, with blended Scotch whiskey, honey, clove, lemon, and hot water; the Improved Holland Cocktail, with genever, gomme, maraschino, absinthe, and bogart bitters; the Widow’s Kiss, with apple brandy, bénédictine, yellow chartreuse, and monk bitters.
